When you enroll at Drake, you become an integral part of the University’s rich history and traditions. We encourage you to participate in the many traditions Drake has to offer during your time at Drake!

Your time at Drake is guaranteed to be special because you’re entering into a Bulldog family that appreciates every one of its members and honors its legacy. Participating in SAA Traditions offers the opportunity for you to make new friends, create memories, and make your mark on Drake’s history.

Welcome Weekend Scavenger Hunt | A fun introduction to the SAA Traditions program with your First-Year Seminar.

Kissing Rock | A mythic stone that gives a lifetime of luck to Drake couples that kiss there.

Hubbelling | Cafeteria trays, hot chocolate and sledding down the hills near Hubbell Dining Hall.

Emmenecker Challenge | Eat the Emmenecker Sandwich in 15 minutes & support the local Food Pantry.

Everybody Eats Mile | Run or walk your heart out showing your Drake spirit.
