Latinx Alumni Association
The mission of the Latinx Alumni Association is to preserve the legacy of Latinx alumni at Drake University by building a community centered on authentic connections & engagement. Membership is open to all Drake University alumni, including non-degreed alumni. All members hold the right to attend member meetings, activities, programs and general elections hosted by the DULAA.
The name of the association was selected by the alumni members of the steering committee in order to be as inclusive as possible. Latinx is a gender-neutral or non-binary alternative to Latino and Latina. It originated in academic settings and is widely used in higher education environments and within the LGTBQIA+ and non-binary communities.

Events & Opportunities
Look for Latinx Alumni Association events and opportunities throughout the year, such as a reunion during Relays and the annual BIPOC Student/Alumni Welcome in the fall for incoming and current Drake Black, Indigenous, and People of Color students and allies as well as alumni, faculty and staff. An advisory council of alums collaborates with Drake University to present events and foster connections within the community.
