Student Alumni Association

Gifts to the Student Alumni Association (SAA) Little Free Pantry Project help to fill one of the Little Free Pantries by campus in the Drake Neighborhood each month. The Little Free Pantry program supports the Drake Neighborhood, which resides in a food desert: a USDA classification for an urban area where it is difficult to buy affordable or high-quality food. Residents are welcome to take or leave non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items.

The Drake Neighborhood Little Free Pantry Project began with a $10,000 Wellmark Foundation Community Kickstarter grant in 2016. Drake LEAD students collaborated with seven other groups in the Drake neighborhood to install a total of 10 Little Pantries.

The Student Alumni Association (SAA) Executive Board created this giving page toward ongoing assistance for the Drake Neighborhood. SAA works in philanthropy and community engagement to honor Maddie Levitt, a Drake Trustee and philanthropist whose story inspires students to find their passion for philanthropy and volunteering.

Your donations will allow the Drake Student Alumni Association to purchase non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items to fill the Little Pantries monthly. If you prefer to donate a physical item, contact Kiley Kahler at kiley.kahler@drake.edu.

If you live outside the U.S. please please contact Pam Pepper at pam.pepper@drake.edu for more information on how to make an online gift. Thank you.
