Everclass – Discussion with Sydney Marshman, Founder of Happy at Home
Join fellow alumni and friends to hear from Sydney Marshman, OTD and graduate of the first class of Drake University occupational therapists in 2019, about her experience as Founder of Happy at Home and as a graduate of the occupational therapy doctorate program at Drake University. Happy at Home services are designed to assist individuals to live safe, comfortable lives at home, as well as support families in the aging in place process while respecting each individual’s wishes. Learn more in this session about Happy at Home and how you can support the aging in place process for yourself or loved ones.
Speakers:
Sydney Marshman: Sydney is an occupational therapist, graduating in 2019 as part of the inaugural cohort from Drake’s OTD program. She is the founder of Happy at Home Consulting. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Health with a focus on community and public health from Iowa State University. Her additional credentials include Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist I (CEAS I) and Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). She has experience in working with clients in the hospital, outpatient, skilled nursing and home health settings. Sydney has a passion for helping people live their best life. She is creative, enthusiastic, and driven in everything she does. Sydney and her husband reside in Des Moines with their pups. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking & time with family.
Leslie Jackson: This session will be facilitated by Dr. Leslie Jackson, Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy, Department Chair and Program Director. Leslie has worked as an occupational therapist for 40 years, and has been at Drake serving in the occupational therapy doctorate program since 2020.
