April 17: Paul Morrison Spruce-Up Day
The Drake Student Alumni Association is hosting Paul Morrison Spruce-Up Day and volunteers from across the Drake community will spend the day cleaning up campus. Bulldogs are encouraged to join in and spend some time sprucing up their neighborhoods in honor of Mr. Drake, Paul Morrison. Post a photo of your own sprucing-up on Facebook or Instagram, tag @drake_saa and use #paulmorrisonday to be entered for a chance to win a Paul Morrison Spruce-Up Day T-shirt or Griff socks!
April 17-25: Grand Blue Mile
Lace up your running shoes and run a Grand Blue Mile on your favorite route. Your $10 registration fee includes a commemorative t-shirt, race bib and Grand Blue Mile at-home fun pack, all shipped directly to your door. Register here.
April 17-25: Drake Road Races
Join in the Drake Road Races from wherever you are. Registration for the virtual 5K and half-marathon races can be found here.
April 18: Beautiful Bulldog Contest
A beloved Drake tradition since 1979, the Beautiful Bulldog Contest will crown another winner at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 18 at The Knapp Center. The contest will be live streamed on Facebook. Get event details here and like the Beautiful Bulldog Facebook page to follow the contents, meet this year’s contestants, and more! The contest will be live streamed at live.drake.edu.
Now Through April 24: Griff Gives Back
For the sixth year, pet lovers are invited to contribute to the Griff Gives Back pet food drive in conjunction with the Beautiful Bulldog Contest. Contributions will go to The Pet Project Midwest, an organization that provides support to help keep pets with their families and out of shelters. Check out all the ways you can make a contribution here and help Griff II reach his goal of collecting 17,000 pounds of food!
April 23: Alumni Virtual Trivia Night
In lieu of our typical All-Alumni Tent party, we will be hosting a virtual trivia night on the Friday of Relays weekend. Trivia will cover a wide range of general topics. Assemble your Bulldog team and register here.
April 24: Boyd Granberg's 100th Birthday Virtual Celebration
Celebrate Boyd Granberg’s birthday virtually with the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. During his 34 years at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Drake University from 1950-1984, Dr. C. Boyd Granberg devoted his career to academic scholarship, service to his profession, and the enlightenment of his students. Toast to his birthday and connect with fellow alumni during this virtual event. RSVP here to get the access link and additional information.
Through May 1: Drake Relays Bookstore Special Promotion.
The first 100 alumni who make a purchase at the online Drake Bookstore that includes Drake Relays merchandise will receive free shipping on their order. (UPS Ground only) To qualify for free shipping, please enter comment, "DR ALUMNI" at checkout. Once we receive your order, the Bookstore will remove the shipping fee and update your order.
