Honor Roll of Donors Header Image

As we reflect on fiscal year 2016, it can best be described as a time of transition. In this single year, the Drake community celebrated the close of the distinctlyDrake campaign, welcomed and introduced a new president, broke ground on the University’s largest capital project in generations—STEM@DRAKE—and formally inaugurated President Marty Martin.

Throughout his first year, President Martin was witness to the generosity of spirit that defines the Drake community. He traversed the world to interact with our graduates and friends—from Chicago to Cuba, from the Twin Cities to Beijing, and multiple cities in between. President Martin heard from generations of graduates as they shared their personal Drake stories. He also saw the direct impact of philanthropy: new students arriving on campus whose Drake experience was made possible by scholarships, talented faculty inspiring students and enriching the classroom because of added resources from their endowed faculty positon, and dramatic changes to the campus landscape and future learning environments with the substantive progress of the Science Connector building and Collier-Scripps Hall (scheduled to open in August 2017).

All of these truly incredible opportunities are made possible because of the generosity of the individuals and companies celebrated in this Honor Roll.

While President Martin is deeply appreciative of his welcome and the community’s collective commitment to Drake’s success, he knows that our current and future generations of students will deeply value your shared stories; they hope you find multiple ways to remain engaged; and they will be inspired by your continued generosity of spirit.

Thank you for your continuing confidence in and support of Drake University.

Warmest regards,
