The Catalyst Fund was created by a group of faculty committed to advancing the goals of diversity and inclusion at Drake University. This is a restricted, non-endowed scholarship and emergency fund for students at Drake.
Catalyst Scholarships will be awarded to students who fulfill the following two criteria: 1) demonstrated financial need; and 2) membership in a historically and/or currently underrepresented group. Examples of underrepresented groups include domestic students of color, undocumented immigrants, refugees, and first generation college students. Annual scholarships will be awarded to a student for the duration of their undergraduate career, based on availability of funds and after fundraising goals have been met.
Catalyst Emergency Funds will also be available (as a proportion of the total Catalyst Fund each year) for students satisfying the criteria above and facing unexpected costs that might prevent them from continuing their education at Drake.
