Black Alumni Association Funding Priorities

The Black Alumni Association recognizes a strong desire from our alumni to support and fund causes and priorities that directly give back to the Black community at Drake University. Below are three giving opportunities that further affirm Drake's strong commitment to fostering a culture that is welcoming and celebrates our strength through our diversity.

Divine 9 National Pan-Hellenic Council Plaza

The Divine Nine Plaza will be centrally located on the west end of the Painted Street. This plaza will celebrate each of the Divine Nine fraternities including Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, and Phi Beta Sigma, and the Divine Nine sororities Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta. The Divine Nine Plaza will celebrate the community-driven spirit and friendships of these organizations. All gifts of $500 and more will be recognized on a plaque on the Plaza. Completion date is August 2025. Click here for a preview of the memorial.
