Food will be collected at Drake-owned and Drake-area businesses from Oct. 10-21 benefiting the Food Bank.
You may drop off non-perishable food items at Mars Cafe and Drake Diner in Dogtown, Sweet Binney's in Clive, Holmes Hyundai in Clive and Holmes Chevrolet in Norwalk. On Oct. 22, an on-campus event showcasing food collected will culminate at the home football game against Valparaiso at 1 p.m. In tandem with our efforts throughout the Des Moines area, alumni will be invited to assist with a Drake student effort, the
Three Mile Project, by packaging and distributing collected food items on that day. Volunteers will also collect money and money at the football game.
Daily 10/10-10/21; packing shift 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and collecting shift 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Joining the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce for their
Stuff a Truck event, which will support the People's Resource Center. Throughout the month of October, the Chamber has been running a can drive and on the 22nd, truckloads of food will need to be transferred and loaded into the PRC.

One Good Deed Chicago and the Friends of the Parks, in conjunction with the Mayor’s office, are putting on a day of service at Douglas Park. Volunteers will help clean-up the park, plant trees, mulch, etc. Though not directly addressing hunger, the project is under an umbrella that is committed to sustaining the needs of the city as well as its culture of philanthropy and service.
