Happenings within the Blue Circle
Central Iowa is the obvious place to find Bulldog Spirit, but not everything happens on Drake’s Campus. Check out some of the great events the Alumni office will be hosting from the State Fairgrounds to Downtown Des Moines and yes on campus as well. There are plenty of ways for Central Iowa alumni to get involved and celebrate their Drake memories.

Drake is lucky to get to be a part in major local events like the Des Moines Arts Festival and the Iowa State Fair.
Drake Day at the Iowa State Fair
DU you love Drake? DU you love the State Fair? If so please join us the first Saturday of the Fair for a celebration of Drake at the Fairgrounds
Let’s DU Lunch
Join fellow Drake alumni and community members for lunch with a Bulldog touch. This luncheon series is held at the Des Moines Club, located on the 34th floor of the Ruan Center in Downtown Des Moines. For more information, click here.
Homecoming Game/ Tailgate
Join Drake for our Homecoming game against Marist College on Saturday, October 2 at 1:00 pm at Drake Stadium. A tailgate will take place at noon prior to the one o’clock game and will cost $15. For game tickets, call the Drake Athletic Ticket Office at 515-271-DOGS or visit www.GoDrakeBulldogs.com.
Bulldog Bashes
Several times a year alumni from around the area meet up at local venues to reconnect and meet new members of the Drake family. Basketball games, the State Fair or just good weather you don’t need a reason to celebrate being BLUE!
Downtown Street Painting
Thanks to great enthusiasm from last year’s participants we are excited to continue one of our newest traditions. Located on Court Avenue, Downtown Street Painting is great way to capture the spirit of a beloved campus tradition. Businesses, Non-profits and Alumni Groups gather to paint the sidewalks of Court Avenue and share in the fun of the Drake Relays. This year’s event will be Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
National Alumni Awards
Each year, Drake University recognizes a handful of alumni whose contributions to their profession and their loyalty to Drake are unmatched. We are proud to present these great people with our National Alumni Awards during Drake Relays weekend. To learn more about this program, please click here.
