Everclass - "Thrill(er) Ride: Lessons Learned on the Journey to Becoming a Novelist"

John Meehan Award-winning author Joseph "Joe" LeValley, JO'76, will discuss his history as a journalist, covering crime, including eight murders, and the criminal justice system. He will describe how those experiences led him to write a series of mystery/thriller novels. He also will share some of the lessons he has learned about writing, publishing, and marketing, as well as some of the tips and tricks he uses to help move a story from idea to finished novel.

This promises to be an interesting and enjoyable discussion between the author and audience members, as LeValley encourages participants to guide the discussion to the topics of most interest to them. Along the way, he will relate some of the unusual and often humorous moments he has encountered as an author.

LeValley is the author of six novels, four of which have been published and have won numerous recognitions and honors. His fifth novel, "The Sophocles Rule," releases on March 3, and his sixth is scheduled for publication in the fall. His books have sold in every state in the U.S. and in seven foreign countries. Join us at 6 p.m. (Central) on Thursday, February 23, for a fascinating exploration of crime, journalism, fiction writing, and related topics, as we take a thrill(er) ride together.
