John Dee Bright

Back to Class: Bright College

In September 2020, Drake University announced the establishment of John Dee Bright College, a two-year college designed to serve the needs of Des Moines-area learners for whom Drake, and indeed college, may not otherwise seem like a possibility. Bright’s curriculum, focused on interdisciplinary, team-taught, project-based seminars and short courses and approach to integrating advising, mentoring, and student services into the academic environment is the first of its kind in the nation.

This presentation from Bright College Dean Craig Owens will offer insight into the history and development of Bright College, its aspirations for the future, and its mission, including the role it will play in advancing Drake’s commitment to access and inclusion and to serving as an anchor institute for our hometown.

This event is presented in conjunction with The Ray Society.

When: Thursday, February 11
Time: 10:00-11:30 a.m. CT
Platform: Zoom (Registered attendees will be emailed an access link and instructions)
