|Drake University and the Greater Des Moines Partnership invite you to join us for the 14th season of Let’s DU Lunch, a professional speaker series that lets you hear firsthand from Drake and community leaders who make Des Moines great.|
Come to the Des Moines Club, 666 Grand Ave. (34th Floor of the Ruan Building) for networking and the lunch program. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served promptly at 11:45 a.m., with the featured speaker beginning at noon. The event will conclude no later than 1 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended due to limited seating. We cannot guarantee you a seat without a reservation. Registration will close 48 hours before the event date.
Make your reservation for each luncheon at a cost of $17 per event. Or save money by reserving your place now at all three events for only $42. The special young professional rate for attendees age 35 and under is $13 per event or $30 for all three events. Pay in advance or at the door. No refunds will be given for cancellations or "no shows."

Dr. Richard Deming joined Mercy Cancer Center in 1989 and has been changing lives in central Iowa ever since. Countless stories exist about Deming's positive influence in his patients' lives, best summed up by a former patient: "The world would be a much better place with more people like Dr. Deming in it. He not only saved my life, but he also helped me renew my commitment to give back to others."

Deming serves as medical director of the CyberKnife Radiosurgery Center of Iowa and the principal investigator for Mercy's National Cancer Institute’s Community Cancer Centers Program. He is also an avid adventurer and has led teams of cancer survivors on inspiring physical challenges, including climbs to Mount Everest Base Camp; the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro; and Nangkar Tshang Ri, Chukkung Ri, and Imja Tse in Nepal.

Ray Giacoletti was recently named the 26th head coach in Drake men's basketball history. From 2007–2013 he served as assistant coach at Gonzaga University where he helped lead the team to six straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a No. 1 seed ranking in the 2013 tournament.

Former University of Iowa standout and Des Moines native Jennie (Lillis) Baranczyk has completed her first season as the women’s basketball head coach. Baranczyk became the fifth Drake women's basketball coach to win 10 or more first-season games. She came to Drake after a two-year stint as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Colorado.

Christina Moffatt turned her love of baking into a career. In August 2010, while still working full-time, she created Crème Cupcake as a home-based business. By January 2011 she gave up her day job to open a stand-alone bakery.

The Ankeny native bakes all her goodies from scratch. Moffatt is also involved in the community, participating in the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, Des Moines Downtown Chamber, Ferscipe Society, and the Women’s Reciprocity Group.
Crème Cupcake + Dessert boasts an executive baker, pastry chef, and mixologist. The business is open during the day as a bakery and at night as a dessert lounge, where yummy treats are purposefully paired with complementary wine or cocktails.
